Abstract
DECIPHER is a web-based database of Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH) array data and phenotypes from patients with developmental disorders, developed at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. The data, with appropriate informed consent, is freely available for public use. DECIPHER has proven to be an effective diagnostic tool for elucidation of new syndromes and provides bioinformatic tools for interpretation of Copy Number Variation (CNV) in developmental disorders. In this presentation I will give an overview of how the database works and briefly discuss some of the tools available for CNV analysis and visualization. The Computer Science Colloquium is organized by the Department of Coputer Science at JKU, the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Informatik (ÖGI) and the Österreichische Computergesellschaft (OCG).
